Frequently Asked Questions

What is Reverse Osmosis Water Technology?

Reverse Osmosis Technology involves the process in which water pressure is made to push water molecules through a 0.0001 micron semi permeable membrane. The long sheets of the membrane made up of thin film composite are rolled up in a circular manner. These sheets are made available in different shapes for processing varying amounts of water. RO Technology is basically carried out to reduce the salt content of water.

Is packaged drinking water safe for health?

Most of the manufacturing units producing packaged drinking water not only have an unhygienic environment but are also without a BIS certification. Moreover, instead of using and then disposing off the PET, they are refilled for quite a few number of times, making the bottle unsterile and leaving behind possibilities for microbial contamination. Hence, canned water is not recommended for daily use. Such water fails to provide the human body with the necessary minerals and often, becomes the cause behind osteoporosis.

How is purified water different from bottled water?

Water that is purified through a proper purifier is 100% pure and free from all kinds of physical, chemical and microbiological impurities. Alongside, it poses no chance of recontamination and hence, is at its purest form at the time of use. Bottled mineral water, on the other hand, has chances of recontamination especially, when there is a lack in the application of the quality control measures. Bottled mineral water is also quite expensive and therefore, not suitable for daily consumption.

What is (GPD)?

This stands for Gallons Per Day. Reverse osmosis systems are sized in the amount of gallons they will produce in one day, or a 24 hour period. The membrane will purify 70-80% of the GPD membrane depending on the water quality, pressure, and weather. For example A 50 GPD system would produce 35-40 gallons per day.

Is it true that R.O systems waste a lot of water?

It depends on how you define the term waste. The RO system purifies the water and washes away impurities. This is not only in water systems but most water-using appliances. We use water to wash clothes, to flush toilets, to take showers. A reverse osmosis system uses more water then consumed. But it does not waste enough water to see the difference on your water bill. The system only uses the water when it is filling up the tank. Once the tank is filled the system automatically shuts off and no water runs to drain
